On October 23rd at the Leeds, Queens Hotel gala evening, Care Dynamic’s Amanda Sanderson beat off all competition to win the Home Care Worker category in Great British Care Awards, Yorkshire and Humberside final. Amanda will now go onto the National finials of this prestigious event. Amanda said:
“I have worked in the care sector since 1987 but still fully believe that every has the right to respect and dignity and I am passionate about “quality of life for all”. My goal has always been to enable empowerment and independence. I believe you should care for someone as you would want to be cared for. I strive to make my life meaningful and enjoy supporting others so they can achieve the best out of life.”
In addition to Amanda’s achievement, Care Dynamic’s Jean Dobby was shortlisted as a finalist in an unprecedented two categories, Putting People First and Dignity in Care. Jean said:
“My person-centred approach has always involved ‘putting people first’. I believe that everyone is equal and everyone has a right to choose how they live their life. I speak up for those without a voice and take great pride in my work and the difference it can make to people’s lives.
My career has been varied but I have always loved working directly with people. Following a long period caring for my mother, I decided to dedicate my life to care for others. I love my job because it allows me to make a difference to people’s lives. I believe that respect, compassion, communication, empathy and understanding are key to being a good carer.”
These accolades not only reflect the amazing work of Amanda and Jean but acknowledges the dedication and commitment of the whole Care Dynamics team.
